Workplace Mental Health: You've Got to Have it

Presenters: Jessica Kennedy, Chief of Staff, Mental Health America Taylor Adams, Manager of Workplace Mental Health, Mental Health America

Description:  Mental health in the workplace has been a critical issue for employers for many years, costing employers billions of dollars in disability and lost productivity. Nothing has made that clearer than the COVID-19 pandemic, where many employers have found their response to mental health lacking. Two speakers from Mental Health America will present their research on mental health in the workplace, addressing culture, stress, and employee engagement. The speakers will cover how employers can address mental health in five different domains: workplace culture, health insurance and benefits, employee perks and programs, legal and ethical compliance, and leadership and community engagement. They will give concrete tips on how to improve mental health in the workplace, address the impact of COVID-19 on mental health for employees, and share lessons learned from their own workplace culture change. Finally, the speakers will emphasize the importance of mental health for the attendees of the webinar.
